'Pray she comes home soon': Miranda Lambert begs fans to help find missing dog Loretta

Written by

mlCountry star Miranda Lambert lost her black Labrador two days ago and she's been worried sick.

Miranda took to Twitter on Tuesday to put out the word that her much-adored dog Loretta has disappeared without a trace.

Loretta is one of nine rescued dogs that live with Miranda, 28, and her husband, fellow singer Blake Shelton, 35, at their Tishomingo, OK home.

She is a small black Lab. She has a pink collar w a pink tag,' Miranda Tweeted.

She added in another Tweet that 'she is very friendly. If u see her, please call the number on her tag. We are praying she comes home soon.'

Miranda has a way with the animals and can't resist adopting strays when they cross her path - she brought Loretta home only last May.

Four years ago, the singer set up MuttNation Foundation to help animals in need, including building caring shelters and reducing the euthanizing of healthy animals.

Miranda considers herself lucky to have a guy who loves the canines as much as she does.

Miranda and Blake, who wed in May 2011, have performed together to raise funds for her nonprofit, charity organization.

The petite star told In Touch four months ago that she and Blake, a judge on The Voice, aren't ready for children just yet.

For the time being, they are content being parents to their four-legged, furry brood, which also includes Orphelia, Black Betty, Cher, Emmy Lou, Delta, Delilah, Jessi, Waylon and Virginia Bluebell.

'I find rescues while traveling and name them after artists,' Miranda says.

mod diduknow1Ancient Egyptians revered their dogs. When a pet dog would die, the owners shaved off their eyebrows, smeared mud in their hair, and mourned aloud for days.
