First held in 1877, The Westminster dog show is the oldest dog competetion continuously held in the United States, and the second oldest sporting event in the country after the Kentucky Derby. The purpose of the contest is to see which dogs conform the most the the AKC's standards and embody the picture perfect image of that breed. This year is no different and the 2010 Westminster Dog show was held at Madison Square Garden and completed on the sixteenth of February.
